1 Mins read

A man who committed assaults and threatened to kill a male he called a “police tout” was later found by the PSNI hiding in a coal shed.

Colin Brady (24), with an address at Parker Avenue in Portrush, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court via video link from Maghaberry Prison and admitted charges including assaults on a male and female; a threat to kill the male; attempted criminal damage to a front door; criminal damage to a police car; disorderly behaviour and an assault on a police officer.
The offences happened after 3am on June 14 this year.

A prosecutor said that during the incident the defendant was highly intoxicated.
When arrested he was shouting and swearing and spat inside a police vehicle and also deliberately stamped on an officer’s foot.

When interviewed the defendant said he had been drunk during the incidents and could not recall anything.

Sentencing was adjourned until September for a pre-sentence report.
