1 Mins read

A MAN who kicked and punched a female at Bath Street in Portrush has been jailed for three months.

Sean Doyle (27), whose address was given as no fixed abode in Coleraine, committed the offence on September 9 this year.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena on Monday, the defendant pleaded guilty to charges of assault, disorderly behaviour and obstruction of a police officer.

A prosecutor said there had been CCTV footage of the incident.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had already spent the equivalent of a four and a half months sentence on remand in custody.

After being given a three months jail term, the defendant told District Judge Peter King he wished to “apologise”.
