A MAN who swore at staff and kicked a door at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine where police had taken him due to his level of “intoxication” has been given a two months jail term, suspended for a year.

Clark Dobbin (26), of Laurel Hill Gardens, was at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday and admitted a charge of being disorderly in relation to February 17 last year.

A prosecutor said Dobbin used phrases like “f*ck off” and “f*cking scumbags, don’t f*cking touch me”.

He kicked a door and also attempted to headbutt glass.

District Judge Peter King said it was his practice to consider custody in such cases but he said the charge was linked to another matter which had been dealt with at the Crown Court and as such there was a “degree of double jeopardy” as he suspended the jail term.
