Man with Kilrea address is detected driving without insurance

1 Mins read
A MAN has admitted using a Peugeot 206 without insurance at Old Park Road in Ballymena.
Piotr Kukla (37), of Coleraine Street in Kilrea, had the offence detected on October 14 last year.
A court heard the policy had been cancelled in July 2020 and the defendant said he “hadn’t been informed” of it.
A defence solicitor said the defendant produced bank statements which showed he had been making insurance payments “up until September”.
The lawyer said the policy had been cancelled as the defendant had not provided proof of a No Claims Bonus.
At Ballymena Magistrates Court the defendant was given penalty points and fined £300.
