Man with more than 190 convictions is refused bail

1 Mins read

A MAN with more than 190 convictions who has admitted attempting to damage a police car window has been refused bail.

Gareth Hyndman (43), of Coleraine Street, Kilrea, committed the offence on October 3 last year.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on February 17 a number of other charges relating to that date were withdrawn.

The withdrawn charges included attempted theft and going equipped for theft.

Hyndman is set to contest a charge that he had gone equipped for burglary on September 26 last year.

The contest is due in May.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan refused bail saying there was a “high risk of re-offending”.

The case was adjourned to February 24.
