A Finvoy man with seven previous convictions for using vehicles without insurance has been warned he faces going to jail after another detection.

Adam Raymond Mark (31), of Finvoy Road, was detected in a Renault Megane in April 2017 at Finvoy Road.

On the same date he also had no driving licence and no MOT.

He appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday and pleaded guilty to the offences.

Defence solicitor Denise Gillan said: “There is something of a record”.

Regarding the latest offence she said her client was insured but not for that particular vehicle.

District Judge Liam McNally noted the defendant had seven previous insurance convictions and had been given a suspended sentence before.

The judge said: “I will need a report, he is very definitely looking at a custodial sentence. As far as I am concerned he is in real difficulties”.

Adjourning the case until mid-August, Judge McNally told the defendant: “You don’t appear to have learned your lesson”.
