The Marine Hotel in Ballycastle has completed phase 2 of their multi-million-pound refurbishments with the opening of the ‘Beach House’ a standalone building with 6 brand new bedrooms. The Beach House has 20 beds available for guests to enjoy in a self-contained unit including a dedicated entrance with a large store room for Kayaks, Golf clubs, bicycles and diving equipment-a facility to make travel with sporting equipment easier … The Marine Hotel is best placed on the coast between Glens of Antrim and Causeway coast for activity based trips.

In the main hotel the Marine has added a 7th bedroom as well as creating 2 brand new full sea view suites with views over to Fairhead and Rathlin Island (picture attached).

The new rooms were opened at an event to showcase the hotel improvements by Brian Gillian Head of Business and Corporate Banking at AIB/First Trust. The hotel now offers 41 bedrooms with 100 bed spaces for tourists visiting the area. Picture attached (L to R – Colum McLornan, Claire Hunter, Stephen Comer (AIB) and Brian Gillian.

The multi million pound redevelopment at the hotel was funded by AIB / First Trust Bank and supported by InVestNI Tourism division. Five new jobs were created with the opening of the Beach House.

Speaking at the event, Claire Hunter said “The demand for bed space on the North Coast is on the increase. We are delighted to be part of the growth in experiential tourism and to be working with Tourism NI to deliver a high standard product in an area of outstanding natural beauty”

The Marine Hotel Ballycastle is already fully booked for bedrooms over the main 4 days of the 148th Open Golf Championship event in July. Summer 2018 was the busiest summer season the hotel has experienced since it re-opened in 2013, with revenues up 12% and occupancy up 6% – year on year – partly due to the great summer weather and also the increase in foreign tourists to the area to play golf, travel along the Causeway Coastal route and visit Game of Thrones film locations.
