Mayor Calls For Council To Consider Extending 148th Golf Legacy Fund To Other Towns In Borough

Sinn Féin Mayor Brenda Chivers has called for the Causeway Coast and Glens Council to consider extending the golf incentive fund to other towns in the area.

Cllr. Chivers said:

“The Open will undoubtedly bring huge economic and tourism benefits to the area, however, it may also cause some disruption in terms of traffic across the entire Causeway Coast and Glens area.

“It is for this reason that I would urge the Council to look at the option of extending the £100,000 Open legacy fund to support initiatives in communities so that the entire area benefits from the success of hosting the Open.”
