Sinn Féin MLA has supported the call to reverse funding to the Irish Language Community

His comments come after a meeting with Conradh na Gaeilge

“The Irish language community is a vital part of our society and has much to offer. In the last number of years substantial  cuts have been made to  the funding stream of various Irish language groups. I support the call of Conradh na Gaeilge for additional funding to Foras na Gaeilge. North Antrim has a thriving Irish Language community, though equality of funding would enhance the already good work being done by many groups.

“The funding is essential to employing Irish language officers, providing Gaeltacht scholarships, and developing and supporting the Irish Medium School community among other things.
