‘Mindless’ vandals strike again at children’s play park in Coleraine

BT Coleraine

The popular children’s play park in Andersons Park, Coleraine was found over the weekend covered in spray paint in a graffiti attack.

Despite no actual damage being done to the park, the equipment and the floor have both been tarnished in the incident.

Playparks reopened across the Borough less than four weeks ago in line with guidance issued by the NI Executive.

Independent Councillor William McCandless has expressed his total disgust at vandalism to the play park “Once again, unfortunately, the children’s play park at Andersons Park has been vandalised. I had hoped that this had stopped. It is a shameful act against the community and particularly to the children who have enjoyed the park during lockdown.

“A thoughtless mindless act, so sad that they are depriving toddlers and children of a place to play.

“The equipment in the play park had been refurbished a few months ago and was a popular attraction for children.

“I would appeal to anyone who noticed anyone involved in this vandalism to contact the PSNI.
