Minor Incident At Portrush Harbour

1 Mins read

A tugboat working on the breakwater wall at Portrush harbour hit a visiting Yacht this morning and caused minor damage.

Commenting on what has been described as a “minor incident” at Portrush Harbour UUP Councillor Norman Hillis said ” I believe that a tug contracted by the firm carrying out the multi-million pound major repair work on the North Pier at Portrush Harbour touched a visiting yacht which had a family of three aboard.

I understand that minor damage occurred to the yachts railings and deck timber regrettably occurred but most important of all, there were no injuries. I am relieved that nothing more serious occurred but this will no doubt have caused distress and annoyance to the yacht owners.”
