Minute’s silence for American tourist who died in road crash near the Dark Hedges

1 Mins read

A minutes silence will be held this morning in memory of Michael Monroe who died in a road accident near the Dark Hedges last year.

Michael Munroe (31) from Orange, Connecticut, suffered fatal injuries in a two-car collision in Armoy, September 2018. He had been visiting the Dark hedges made famous by its appearance in the popular Game Of Thrones television series with his wife Caroline, after their wedding last year as part of their honeymoon.

This morning at the Magheraboy hotel in Portrush, Life After, a support group for people who have lost loved ones as a result of road traffic collisions and to raise awareness of the effects of road death, will meet with Road Safety NI, PSNI, Emergency services, the Dark Hedges Trust and local councillors to call for new signs at the dangerous crossroads.
