Missing person found safe and well

Following an early morning multi-agency search for a man in Cushendall this morning, we can report that he has been found safe and well in the Ballymena area.

Redbay Lifeboat, Coastguard, Community Rescue Service and Rescue 199 from Prestwick assisted in the search.

He is now in the care of the ambulance service.

A spokesman for the Community Rescue service, said: “Around 2am, 20 of our volunteers were tasked to the Cushendall area to search for a missing man. Along with other agencies, we searched the shoreline for a number of hours.

We are pleased to confirm that the man was traced in the Ballymena area this morning.”
