Bradley’s comments came after a facebook post last night (Wednesday), revealed that the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Brenda Chivers used the Parlour to host a Sinn Fein event.
“It is my understanding that my DUP Council colleagues are seeking answers from the Chief Executive about how this event was notified to Council.
“Members are bound by a Code of Conduct, which means that they cannot use Council resources for political purposes – this was clearly a political stunt – just a few weeks before a Council election.
“As a former Mayor myself, the Parlour and indeed the Council building was always to be treated as a neutral space – last night’s event was a clear abuse of Council facilities.
“Sinn Fein continue to push their equality, respect and integrity agenda, however the Mayor by her actions has clearly defined her ignorance of the hurt she has caused to the wider community, especially those who have been victims of violent Republican terrorism.
“In light of this event, I would urge voters to make their voice heard in the elections, make your vote count and give your preference to hard working Unionist candidates who have integrity and respect for all of the citizens of this Borough.”
