
The Dunluce Road in Bushmills has now reopened to traffic following a road traffic collision earlier today.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said “The collision involving a car and motorcycle was reported to police at around 2.20pm. The male motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries where his condition is described as critical.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Dunluce Road and who witnessed the collision to contact officers in Coleraine on 101 quoting reference 641 02/01/19.”
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:15 on Wednesday
02 January following reports of a RTC, involving a motorcycle and a car, on the
Ballaghmore Road.
NIAS despatched two Rapid Response Paramedics and an Emergency crew to the
scene. The Charity Air Ambulance was also tasked to the incident.
Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, the motorcyclist was
airlifted to Belfast by the Air Ambulance for further treatment at RVH.
