1 Mins read

A MOTORIST detected doing 113mph in a Volkswagen Jetta has been given an 18 months driving ban at Coleraine Magistrates Court sitting in Ballymena.

Adam Haughian (19), of Glenarm Avenue, Portrush, was detected at the Drumcroon Road between Coleraine and Garvagh on May 18 this year.

The road has a 60mph limit.

District Judge Peter King said: “I think that is one of the fastest we have had that hasn’t attracted either a ‘careless’ or a ‘dangerous’ as well.”

The defendant was fined £250 and banned from driving for 18 months.
