Sinn Féin councillor Kieran Mulholland has welcomed the refurbishment of the park at Benvista.
He comments come after the Council work that he and his Sinn Féin colleagues had lobbied for was completed.
Councillor Mulholland said:
“For years Ballymoney Council had neglected this area but I am really delighted for the residents of Benvista that I and the Sinn Féin team on the new Council were able to deliver this project. I made sure that residents were included and consulted at every stage of the decision, design and construction process that included a number of meetings of Council officials.
“This process and work has completely transformed and renewed the park in the centre of the housing development.
“This new park with its seating area, multi child swing, planted flowers along with the paved and spongy surface will be an asset for the families that live in Benvista for years to come.
“The new fencing also makes it a safer environment for children to play in”
“This project is just one of the many projects, issues and play park facilities myself and Sinn Féin are working on in the Loughgiel/Armoy area to redress the years of investment neglect.”
