A new 12-sided £1 coin will go into circulation tomorrow which means saying goodbye slowly, but surely, to those old £1 coins.

Confirming to Causeway Coast Community this afternoon Ulster Unionist Councillor William McCandless said “I can confirm that the car parks controlled by Council have been prepared in time to accept the new £1.

I would wish to commend our Director of Environmental Services Aidan McPeake and relevant staff who worked in tandem with the introduction of the new £1 coin which is introduced to our currency tomorrow.”

Only new coins will be accepted after the 6 month grace period.
