‘New material added’ to file in ‘hunter group’ case

1 Mins read

A man who was allegedly targeted in a so-called ‘paedophile hunter’ group “sting” has had “new material added” to his file, Coleraine Magistrates Court has been told.

Harold Burke (59), of Quilly Road, Coleraine, is charged with two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child and two of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He is also accused of possessing 370 rounds of .22 ammunition in suspicious circumstances. The charges relate to July and August last year.

A prosecution lawyer said the intention is to send the case to the Crown Court and the case was adjourned to mid-June to fix a date for a Preliminary Enquiry – the legal step to send a case to the higher court.
