Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is offering women an insight into the role of a Firefighter at ‘Come & Try’ days in Belfast and Londonderry in November.
The events will be held at Crescent Link Fire Station, Derry on Saturday 12th November and at Central Fire Station, Belfast on Saturday 26th November.
Mark Deeney, Western Area Commander explained, “We want to show women what the role of a Firefighter involves and give participants the opportunity to meet some of our female Firefighters.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to take a ‘behind the scenes’ look at what operational Firefighters do when attending emergency calls. Not only will they hear at first-hand what the job involves but they will also get the chance to experience the realities of wearing fire kit and breathing apparatus..
“If you’re female, 17 years of age and over and interested in a career that makes a difference we’d love to hear from you – just register your interest and reserve your place. We look forward to seeing you at our Come & Try Days!”
Participants will have the option to attend a morning (10.00am – 12.30pm) or afternoon session (1.30pm – 4.00pm) at each event. Places are strictly limited so to register your interest and reserve a place please email [email protected].
