Ongoing Parking Problems For Portrush Residents

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this evening Alderman Norman Hillis said :

“There are still ongoing problems with lack of parking in the Ramore Street, Ramore Avenue, Princess Street and nearby streets in Portrush making life difficult for residents when they try to park anywhere near their homes.

This is partly do to the really successful restaurants in the Harbour Area but presents a big problem for residents returning home from work.

I have recently had a written reply from DFI (roads service) saying that they will not consider any residents parking schemes in Portrush until the schemes in Belfast are fully evaluated and any problems sorted out. Not good news for residents.

Causeway Coast and Glens BC will debate the problem tonight but will the Department listen?”
