An outraged Coleraine resident has publicly shamed a dog poo offender who she caught on camera letting his dog foul in front of her driveway – by posting the video on Facebook.
Tori Robinson was ‘enraged’ when she caught the brazen male on her home’s CCTV system walking off without picking up his dog’s mess.
She said “I am resident of the Ballycairn area and for years we’ve all been complaining of dog poo and massive ones at that .. we knew rightly who it was, but had no proof. Last night this guy passed my house at midnight with his dogs and left the biggest poo at my gate.”
Tori said she hopes the man’s new-found publicity will encourage him to think twice about where he lets his pooch relieve itself.
Earlier this month Causeway Coast & Glens Council brought a successful prosecution when a Portstewart man was found guilty at Ballymena Magistrates Court of failing to remove his dog’s foul. The offence was witnessed by an employee of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
The dog owner was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £80 for failing to remove the dog foul. It was not paid and legal proceedings were subsequently instigated against the dog owner for the offence.
The man was fined £150 and ordered to pay £124 in legal costs.
