Police Appeal For Information Following A Fatal RTC Outside Dungiven

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Glenshane Road outside Dungiven last Wednesday morning, 23 November, continue to appeal for witnesses.

64 year old Loreto Douglas died from injuries sustained in the collision.  She was the driver of a Volkswagen car that was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit van and a Citroen Dispatch van at approximately 9.15am close to the Ponderosa. She was airlifted to hospital in Belfast by PSNI Air Support Unit but later died from her injuries.  Three men and a woman were also taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.

Inspector Ian Armour is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Glenshane Road LAST Wednesday morning and who witnessed the collision, any vehicles stopped on the road or any pedestrians prior to the collision to contact local police in Limavady or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 230 of 23/11/16.
