Police were called to an incident in Portstewart and a man who they found lying on his back on the floor of a house with injuries including two black eyes then began shouting and swearing and was arrested for disorderly behaviour when he refused to calm down.
Mark Laurence Woods (45), of Parklea, Portstewart, came to police attention on April 26 this year.
Charges of making a threat to kill and assault were withdrawn and the defendant admitted the disorderly behaviour.
Defence solicitor Garrett Greene said the defendant, who appeared at court via video link from Maghaberry Prison, had spent six weeks on remand in custody.
Woods was given a one month custodial term and has already served the time.
