Police in Causeway Coast and Glens will be carrying out additional patrols in the Moyle area this week to provide some further reassurance to residents as we approach the end of the summer period.

Inspector Davy Burns said: “The focus of our patrols will mainly be on deterring any criminal activity in rural areas of the District but there are steps local residents can take to keep their property safe. This includes closing and locking doors and windows, making sure valuable farm machinery is locked away at night, and making full use of alarms and lighting to discourage opportunistic criminals.

“We still have some big events coming up which will bring more visitors into the Causeway Coast and Glens area including the Lammas Fair, so we would ask that people travel safely on the roads and if you are sampling some of the local nightlife then please act responsibly.”
