Social media posts have circulated over the last few days regarding the loss of the local Q cafe show hosted by Portstewart presenter Denis McNeill between 10am – 1pm Monday – Friday.

A spokesperson from Gatekeeper PR confirmed this morning to Causeway Coast Community that Q Cafe has been taken off air and will return after the summer with presenter Gareth Stewart. Gareth currently hosts Q Cafe throughout Belfast. The output will be presented from the new Go Q Radio headquarters at Fountain Centre, Belfast where it moved to last month from the previous Citybeat headquarters on Ormeau Road. Causeway Coast Community understands this broadcast will also cover 2 other local stations throughout Northern Ireland as well as Belfast.

All is not lost in terms of local input as previous local presenters will be travelling around their local towns gathering short interviews on community matters and issues which will be broadcasted throughout the week.

Gatekeeper PR also confirmed that a formal employee consultation process is underway regarding a proposal to close the Ballymena office with possible relocation to other bases. There has been no final decision on the future of the Ballymena base.
