Portrush man is charged with assault

A man charged with assault has had his case adjourned to September.

Stephen Christopher Doey (51),of Garron Park in Portrush, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on July 8.

He faces two charges relating to April 18 this year.

The charges are that he caused grievous bodily harm to a male and he faces a second charge that he assaulted a male of the same name, thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

Defence solicitor Andrew Kinney asked for the case to be put back to September as the defendant was due to start a Community Addiction Service course.

The defendant was released on £500 bail and the case adjourned to September 2.
