Portrush RNLI deal with two shouts within hours

Portrush RNLI were tasked to two incidents within hours of each other, on Saturday (30 May 2020) the first one at 10.11pm to reports of a yacht in difficulty at Barmouth and the second one at 7:27am ( Sunday 31st May 2020 ) to reports of kayakers in difficulties between Whiterocks and Dunluce Castle.


The ALB crew launched at 10.11pm on Saturday night and arrived on scene at 10.26pm. The crew established a tow rope and towed the yacht with one male on board back to Portrush at 11.29pm.

This morning both boats launched at 7.42 am. Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) recovered one kayaker who was in the water. Two people were transferred to ALB along with kayaks. Both boats returned to station at 8.34am.
