Prison sentence for benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Limavady Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Oswald Young (44) of Roeview Park, Limavady claimed Disability Living Allowance totalling £3,996. He was given a three month prison sentence and released on bail with leave to appeal.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
