Railway Line Incident : Police Investigating Sudden Death

Police are investigating the sudden death of a person on the rail line between Ballymena and Cullybackey this morning, Sunday 19th February.

The rail line has been closed following the incident and is expected to remain closed for some time.

There are no further details at this stage.

Speaking to Causeway Coast Community this afternoon Ulster Unionist Cllr Darryl Wilson said “Deeply saddened to learn that someone has lost their life on the railway line near Cullybackey today. My deepest condolences go out to all impacted by this awful news.

A Spokesperson for Translink said “There is an ongoing Incident between Ballymena & Ballymoney. A bus substitute is in operation.”
