Red Bay RNLI & Rescue 199 Tasked To Fairhead On Thursday Evening

Red Bay ALB and ILB launched this evening at 17.10 following a call at 16.54.

A spokesperson for Red Bay said “2 people were located by the lifeboat crew on the boulder field at FairHead this evening. They were stuck approximately 150m up the cliff face in the darkness in zero degree temperatures.”

Rescue 199 from Prestwick winched the two people off the cliff while the Lifeboats illuminated the area.

The coastguard also attended the incident.
