Roads Service refusal to fix Main Street footpath Rasharkin unacceptable- Peacock

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin Councillor Leanne Peacock has said that Roads Services’ continual refusal to fix the footpath on Main Street in Rasharkin is not acceptable.

Cllr Peacock said, “ I have contacted Roads Service many, many times over the past months about loose paving stones on the footpath along Main Street Rasharkin which are causing a tripping hazard for local people and time and again I am met with refusal from them to take action.”

“Many local people have tripped on these loose stones and some have fallen as a result. It is not good enough and has been ongoing for a long time at this point. This is one of the most densely frequented pavements in the village and yet it is being left as a health and safety hazard for our local people.”

“I have written again to Roads Service this week requesting urgent action to fix the loose stones, which is a very small request from the people of Rasharkin, and I will continue to lobby heavily until we see the issue finally addressed.”
