Sinn Féin announce Causeway Coast and Glen’s candidates

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin have announced their candidates for each DEA in the Causeway Coast and Glen’s area following a packed candidate launch in Ballymoney Town Hall.

John O’Dowd MLA officially launched the candidates and addressed the room stating: “This is a momentous occasion and I congratulate the outstanding team of candidates that have been selected. This is the first time that Sinn Féin held such an event in Ballymoney Town which is significant in itself.

“Our first candidate was elected in this area as the sole Sinn Féin representative on Ballymoney Council in 2001 and we stand here tonight launching 12 candidates across the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

“There is a mood in nationalism that is strong and confident, and we are moving forward for change. I wish all our candidates the best of luck in the weeks and months ahead.”

The candidates selected in each DEA are as follows:

Bann DEA – Sean Bateson

Coleraine DEA – Ciarán Archibald

Causeway DEA – Emma Thompson

Benbradagh DEA – Sean McGlinchey, Kathleen McGurk and Dermot Nicholl

Limavady DEA – Brenda Chivers

Glens DEA – Cara McShane, Kieran Mulholland and Oliver McMullan

Ballymoney DEA – Leanne Peacock and Cathal McLaughlin
