Sinn Fein secure funding for Glenariff Community Hub

1 Mins read

Sinn Féin Councillor, Cara McShane, has welcomed the vote tonight at Causeway Coast and Glens Council which will see £750,000 made available for sporting and community groups within the Council area to help fund their own projects.

Cllr. Cara McShane said:

“I am delighted that this Sinn Féin initiative has finally been agreed by Council and the process of groups being able to access funding can now begin.

I am also delighted that the Council agreed to the proposal of £180k going to the Friends of Glenariff community facility.

“The vote on both issues was very close with only one vote in favour of both issues. Sinn Féin along with others were heretonight carrying out our mandate in defence of our communities. Naked sectarianism lost tonight and common sense prevailed.”
