Smell Of ‘Weed’ Detected Coming From Car In Portrush Harbour Area

POLICE detected a smell of cannabis coming from a car which had its windows rolled down and a man confessed he had “weed”.

Jonathon David Edgar (21), of Magheramenagh Drive, Portrush, had the offence detected in the harbour area of the town on October 28.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on November 19 he pleaded guilty to possessing a Class B controlled drug.
The court heard he had no previous convictions.

He was fined £150 and District Judge Peter King told him: “This is your opportunity to learn from this”.
