Spanish travel magazine makes Northern Ireland a cover star!

1 Mins read
October 2017 – The Dark Hedges have made the cover of a glossy Spanish magazine which has about 150,000 readers – or potential holidaymakers for Northern Ireland. A ten-page article all about Northern Ireland, and in particular our Game of Thrones filming locations, features in the October edition of Viajeros, a popular travel publication. Tourism Ireland in Madrid, in conjunction with Tourism NI, invited journalists Oscar Checa and Josefa Garcia to visit Northern Ireland in July. The resulting article appears in the latest edition of Viajeros and features lots of great photos of places like Tollymore Forest Park, the Mournes, Ballintoy Harbour, the Giant’s Causeway and the Dark Hedges. The magazine has also been sharing the article via its social platform – to its 14,300 Twitter followers and its 5,500 Facebook fans.

Barbara Wood, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said: “We are delighted with the excellent coverage in the latest edition of Viajeros magazine. It’s a really great way to spread the word about Northern Ireland and the various locations which feature in Game of Thrones – inspiring fans of the series here in Spain to go and explore them for themselves.

“Tourism Ireland has an extensive programme of promotions under way in Spain this autumn, to continue to grow visitor numbers to Northern Ireland. Publicity is an important element of our overall promotional programme, helping to raise awareness through the Spanish media of the many things to see and do on a holiday in Northern Ireland.”
