St Peter’s and St Paul’s Primary School wins Cash For Schools prize

1 Mins read

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has presented pupils at St Peter’s and St Paul’s Primary School in Foreglen with a very special prize.

The school was recently named the overall winner of the Cash For Schools scheme ran by SuperValu in Dungiven.

Councillor Brenda Chivers was joined by representatives from the store at the presentation event.

Speaking afterwards, the Mayor said: “I was delighted to accept this invitation to join the pupils and staff as they received their Cash For Schools cheque. It was clear how much this win means to the school and I would like to thank everyone at SuperValu in Dungiven for arranging this very practical community support programme which will make a real difference in our local area.”

Jamie Blair, Store Manager at Supervalu Dungiven, said: “As a company we thrive on supporting our local communities and the Cash For Schools scheme is a way of paying back into our community and we have been very pleased with the response from all schools and customers over the last few months. It has been a huge success and I’m happy we can support our young up-and-coming leaders and help make their education the best it can be. Congratulations to everyone at St Peter’s and St Paul’s and to all the participating schools.”

“We wanted to give each school who took part a little something to say thank you for their support so they will each receive £100 to use in whatever way they want.

From everyone in SuperValu Dungiven and myself, thank you to all those who supported this fantastic competition.”
