Strike Action At Jobs And Benefits Offices?

Causeway Coast Community can exclusively reveal that approx. 50 employees at the Jobs and Benefits MOU units ( Mail Opening Units) in Coleraine and Limavady could strike from 11am tomorrrow ( 23rd December 2019 ) as a pay dispute remains unsolved.

Unless a resolution can be reached, staff could strike up to two weeks.

A department spokesperson said :

  • All benefit payments will be “issued as normal”;
  • All digital benefit services are “available as usual”;
  • However, benefit offices’ telephone lines “may be busier than normal” and both offices will continue to operate as normal.

MOU staff are responsible for mail opening and data input.
