Sydney B Scott & Sons Farm Shop to close Coleraine store

1 Mins read

Back in February of this year, a report was given to members of Council’s Planning Committee which recommended they refuse Planning Permission to Sydney B Scott & Sons’ Farm Shop on the basis of it eating into land zoned to bring industry to Coleraine.

The owners of the shop were determined to fight against it and had said that if planning permission was refused they would not be closing down, they would simply re-locate.

However, posting on Social Media today the Farm Shop said “Morning folks! The rain is back but I have some other bad news to tell you.”

“Unfortunately we are closing down the Farm Shop. Some time ago, we were told we don’t have planning permission because we are in an industrial estate and we are a retail shop!”

“We did try to fight it but anything we did, didn’t work.”

“The good news is, we have a 30% off sale starting today on everything but fruit, vegetables and fresh meat! Once everything is sold the shop will be closed.”

“I will continue to post on Facebook but I just wanted to thank our lovely customers for all your support over the past 5 years!”
