Time to Shake Up Stormont – Armstrong

In a final pre-election statement East Londonderry TUV candidate Jordan Armstrong said:

“It is time to shake up Stormont. TUV has long warned that parties which believe they are in power for ever will become arrogant and complacent. Going round the doors it is clear that many people view the establishment parties in just such terms.

“It is time to shake things up. TUV gives the electorate the chance to answer back to arrogance and possible corruption. Vote for the same old parties and you will get more of the same which isn’t working.

“Don’t be conned with the same old scare story about the First Minister post. TUV has long pointed out that the First and deputy First Ministers are co- equals. One cannot do anything without the other.

“Of one thing there can no longer be any doubt: the First Minister only holds office as long as the deputy First Minister allows him or her to. Once Martin McGuinness resigned Arlene Foster lost office too.

“Remember too that the DUP’s top priority once the election is out of the way is to get devolution back. How are they going to do that? By cutting a deal with Sinn Fein which will see them in power as their co-equals!

“What a sham to spend the election claiming to oppose Sinn Fein only to have joint government with Republicans as their goal immediately after the election!

“With growing numbers of Ulster Unionists turned off by Mike Nesbitt’s call for voters to transfer to united Irelanders TUV is the only viable alternative on election day.

“Shake things up and strengthen Jim Allister’s hand by voting Jordan Armstrong 1 on Thursday.”
