The Department of Infrastructure is introducing a ban on traffic using the famous Dark Hedges road ( Bregagh Road ) from 30 October 2017.

The Order will prohibit the use by vehicles of a length of the C102, Breagagh Road, Armoy and the use by buses of a length of the U65, Chatham Road, Armoy and a length of the U64, Doughery Brae, Armoy.

Any person who acts in contravention of the Order shall be guilty of an offence under the Road Traffic Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 (“the Regulation Order”) and shall be liable onsummary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale (£1,000) in accordance with the Road Traffic Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 as amended by the Regulation Order.

Traffic signs indicating the effect of the Order will in due course be placed on the roads.
