Two Appear In Court Following Coleraine Assault

1 Mins read

TWO men were remanded in custody at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Friday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent on a man and attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to ‘clean up blood’.

They are Kenneth Ramage (46), of Society Street in Coleraine and David McMullan (32), of Dunhill Road, Macosquin.

The particulars of the attempting to pervert the course of justice charge are that ‘with intent to pervert the course of public justice, attempted to do an act which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice, namely by attempting to clean up blood at the scene of a serious assault’.

Kenneth Ramage alone faces a third charge – assault on another male.

The charges are in relation to an incident in the Society Street area of Coleraine on January 2 in which a man received ‘serious head injuries’ which police said were ‘not believed to be life threatening’.

The defendants had their cases adjourned to further sittings of Coleraine Court – Kenneth Ramage to January 6 and David McMullan to January 13.
