WELL-known and respected Ballymena Guardian photographer Robert Wallace passed away in the early hours of today (April 3).
He had been ill for some time. Robert had worked at the Guardian for some 30 years and was well known throughout Ballymena and the surrounding districts.
He photographed thousands of people in the area and many tributes were paid online today.
The Ballymena Guardian said he would always be remembered as a dedicated lensman who thoroughly enjoyed chronicling the lives and times of the community.
Robert will be sorely missed by his work colleagues and many friends, the paper said.
In an article on the Ballymena Guardian web page today, editor Dessie Blackadder added: “Our deepest sympathy to his entire family circle at this sad time.”
