Excitement is already mounting ahead of Coleraine’s Europa League clash with Motherwell.

It won’t be the first time Coleraine has met the Steelmen at the Showgrounds.

The teams met in a friendly back on Tuesday, August 9 1983 when Tony Curley was manager at Ballycastle Road.

And playing that day for Motherwell was a certain Brian McClair.

The gifted McClair went on to have a fantastic career with Celtic, Man United and Scotland.

Coleraine had a gifted player of their own starring that day… Raymond McCoy scored in a 1 1 draw
Junior Burns scored Motherwell’s goal in a match which was Eugene McNutt’s testimonial.
