A WOMAN charged with causing the death of a man by driving without due care and attention on the Drones Road between Cloughmills and Armoy appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday.

Isabella Sequetto Terror (27), with an address listed as Upper Knockbreda Road in Belfast, is charged with causing the death of Francis Watson on February 6 this year.

A defence lawyer said the defendant was at the courthouse with family members.

The accused was in the dock briefly as the barrister asked for the case to be taken to Antrim Magistrates Court on Tuesday February 25 for an update and a “bail variation”.

No other details were given at Monday’s Court hearing.

41-year-old Francis Watson who lived in the Ballycastle area was tragically killed in a collision on the evening of Thursday February 6 this year.

His Funeral Mass was held at St Patrick’s and St Brigid’s Church, Ballycastle, and he was interred in Armoy.

The father-of-three, who worked in the construction industry, was engaged to be married, a priest told the Mass.

Mourners also heard Mr Watson had connections with the Glen Rovers GAA club in Armoy.

A PSNI spokesperson said at the time of the accident: “The two-vehicle collision involved a white Volkswagen Golf and a silver-coloured Kia Picanto and was reported to police at 6.45pm.

“The man who tragically lost his life, who was the driver of the Golf, was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough councillor Cara McShane said at the time: “Our thoughts and prayers and our heartfelt condolences are with the family.”

She added: “The family would be well-known and well-respected within the community.

“People are just absolutely devastated to hear another tragic death of this type in the north Antrim community”.
