Woman injured in two vehicle RTC in Portrush

Motorists are advised that the Ballymacrea Road in Portrush has been closed between Craigahullier Road and Gateside Road following a two vehicle road traffic collision.

Diversions are in place and motorists should seek an alternative route for their journey.

One female has been conveyed to hospital for treatment for her injuries.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said:

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 1:31pm to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision at the Ballymacrea Road area of Portrush this afternoon (Friday 9th September).

“One Fire Appliance each from Coleraine and Portrush Fire Stations were deployed to the scene of a road traffic collision involving a car and a van. One woman was released by Firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment and taken to hospital by colleagues from Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 2:02pm.”
