Woman is accused of possessing hatchet and knife as offensive weapons

A WOMAN is charged with possessing offensive weapons – a hatchet and a knife – with intent to commit assault.

The charge sheet shows Claire Gilchrist is also accused of assaulting a female on the same date – June 7 this year.

The case was mentioned at Coleraine Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, on October 26 where the defence barrister was Eoghan Devlin.

The defendant (31), of Churchill Avenue, Cloughmills, had the case adjourned to November 9.
