Woman stabbed in Ballymoney

Detectives in Coleraine investigating the report of an assault on a female in the Shandon Park area of Ballymoney in the early hours of yesterday morning, Saturday 6 July, have charged a man with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Detective Inspector Peter McKenna said: “We received the report that a woman had been stabbed by a man in her home in the Shandon Park area at around 1am on Saturday morning. The woman’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.”

The man is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday 8 July.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
