Man who died in Ballintoy water incident named locally

A man who died as a result of a sea incident in the vicinity of Ballintoy harbour on Monday evening has been named locally as Alan Roger Paice (known as Paicer to his friends).

A PSNI spokesperson said "Police responded to a report in relation to a man in the water in the vicinity of Ballintoy harbour on Monday evening (July 26th).

Police attended the scene, along with other emergency services where, sadly, the man's body was recovered from the water and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious."

A notice on funeral times read "PAICE – 26th July 2021, unexpectantly, Alan Roger (known as Paicer to his friends), 82 Ringrash Road, Coleraine.  

Loving husband of Jennifer, proud and loving father of Victoria and Christopher.  Funeral service for family and friends in Wades Funeral Home, Coleraine on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 at 2.00pm followed by cremation at Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast at 4.15pm.  

No flowers please.
