SDLP Glens councillor Margaret Anne McKillop has welcomed a £3.8m funding commitment from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council for the Ballycastle Shared Campus.
The funding commitment was agreed at council on Tuesday evening.
Councillor McKillop said:
“I welcome council’s commitment to providing a significant amount in funding towards the shared education campus in Ballycastle. When completed this campus will be at the heart of life in Ballycastle, catering to over 1,000 students and boasting modern facilities that will be transformational for the area.
“Given the impact this project will have it is only right that council partners in it and makes a contribution that will see sports facilities established that will be available for use by the entire community.
“I look forward to the next generation of young people in this area being able to avail of this first-class facility. I hope that the delays which have impacted this project are now behind us and we can look forward to a tender being appointed in the near future.”
